Bayam masak asam (Javanese spinach soup) is one
of Javanese (from Surabaya) main dishes, maybe that is why my worker, Wak Mustaqim
really diligent in sowing spinach or
bayam in Malay. When I visited Surabaya last February, our Hotel Restaurant serves these
dishes each morning. I learnt that they like to have it with porridge or white
rice for breakfast (Honestly, I love to have spinach soup
with white rice and sambal but not for breakfast). knowing that Javanese people using a lot of spinach in their diet, recently I bought two
packs of white spinach seeds and Wak
Mustaqim Silently sowed these seeds. Well...This
is what I got.
